Cycling Loire Valley (East)
Self-guided bike tour from Blois to Tours

Blois / Chambord / Blois
In the morning, you come straight to our rental place to receive your bikes and your road-books as well as briefing for the tour.
Leave Blois and ride among fields and vineyards towards Chambord, the largest and by far most impressive Château of the Loire Valley. After visiting Chambord, you pedal back to Blois through the forest and across a few quiet villages.

Blois / Chaumont-sur-Loire / Amboise
A short ride on a path which follows from afar the course of the Loire river, and soon you find yourself in Chaumont-sur-Loire. The Château dominates the peaceful course of the river since a relatively high headland, and offers a beautiful view on the Valley. Not to be missed: the International Garden Festival, a true source of inspiration and magic! You will end your ride in Amboise. Discover the charming market town with its impressive castle overlooking the Loire River. Leonardo da Vinci once lived here and you will have the opportunity to visit his former manor house, Le CLos Lucé.

Amboise / Chenonceaux / Amboise
You ride through the forest of Amboise, along a pretty bike itinerary which will take you to chateau de Chenonceau: a wall of elegance built over the Cher River, it is one of the highlights of French Renaissance architecture, one of the most popular chateaux in France. You pedal back to Amboise through a quiet rural landscape of woods and vineyards.

Amboise / Tours
A beautiful ride on the bucolic Loire à Vélo bike path will take you to Tours. On the way you will cross the vineyard of Montlouis. Make a stop to taste the wine in a cellar or reach the church to simply admire the outstanding view onto the Loire Valley. Then follow the bank of the river down to Tours and take some time to wander in the old town center, filled with half-timbered houses, public gardens, and cafés.
