Saumur / Angers

58 km

Leaving Saumur, enjoy the charm  of a riverside route which reflects the gentle pace of life in the region of Angers: ride along the Loire River, following a lovely itinerary which will take you through numerous villages offering an exceptional variety of religious monuments, Roman ruins, private châteaux, etc... Here the countryside is the perfect illustration of what we call in French « la douceur angevine » - the sweetness of the county of Angers. Saint Rémy la Varenne, Saint Mathurin and La Daguenière are the “curiosities” along a route which, no longer able to follow the right bank of the river, makes an incursion into the land of the Loire-Anjou-Touraine regional natural park. Soon you ride among quiet hamlets and peaceful fields. When you arrive in Angers, do not miss the famous medieval Chateau, fortress of King René, with its tapestry of the Apocalypse.

You leave the bikes and take back your luggage at our bike shop in Angers. You depart on your own after,  the train station is just front of our place.
